Why Jatoba? We chose to use Jatoba due to it’s strength, wear resistance and beautiful gold and reddish hue. Also known as Brazilian Cherry, it is often used for applications requiring extreme wear resistance - ranking over 2600 on the Janka Hardness Scale (nearly twice the hardness of oak). Over time with exposure to light, Jatoba will darken and take on a rich reddish hue. We felt that the durability and beauty of the wood naturally lent itself to use for our boxes and helped to ensure they would last for a lifetime – or longer!
*Please note: due to the natural variations in wood color, grain & detail, items may vary slightly from the picture. We also try to preserve the natural features of the wood (knots, worm holes, etc) as long as they do not hamper the integrity of the design & structure.

This is a beautiful box and excellent craftsmanship. It smells wonderful comes wrapped in a nice cloth bag, as well hold together nicely. The magnets are very strong so be careful in opening the box. I use it to keep my gemstone dice. The miniature pocket's foam was perfect for storing my sharp resin whose corners I wish to keep intact. It is a bit of a tight fit for larger dice, but everything is superb. I will say like other reviews the engraving isn't as dark, but the image still pops out nicely.

The box is so cool! The engraving is slightly lighter than I expected but it's probably due to color correction on photos. The box itself has nice weight to it and super strong magnets. Highly recommend!
